WHAT WE WILL LEARN FROM THIS UNIT
Theory: Staff, note duration, scales: natural major, natural, harmonic and melodic minor, pentatonic scales, blues scales, patterns on scales and rhythms, keys, more than 200 chords on each of the 12 roots (200*12=2400 chords), shuffle vs even8th, triplets…
10 songs in different styles will help you learn how to apply the theory and the exercises in you practical repertoire.
Styles: classical, rock, pop, blues, jazz, bossa nova.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE TO WORK WITH THIS BOOK

• Electric guitar or acoustic guitar with a microphone
• Computer with a sound system and headphones
• Connectors and cables to connect your guitar or microphone to the computer
• Multitrack sound recording software – for example, free software Audacity

Course description

 

 

1. Students will learn how to play bossa nova, samba, and mix these styles with other Latin guitar styles:

·        Melody

·        Chords

·        Rhythmical patterns and variations

·        Chord melody

·        Accompaniment with a band

·        Accompaniment without a band playing bass lines with a thumb

·        Finger style chord melody

·        Basic improvisation

·        Scales for the improvisation.

 2. Students will learn how to use a computer and music software and hardware in music learning process.

3. Students will learn how to arrange their own compositions and how to record their own music with a computer.

Prerequisites.

To be ready for this course students need to know open-position chords and basic barre chords, to be able to read simple music in standard music notation and tablatures.

 

 

In addition to teacher’s instructions and demonstrations the course provides notation and tabs, video, audio, MIDI, PDF, JPG, and Guitar Pro files.
